GLA:D

The GLA:D program is available for people with early to late stages of osteoarthritis of the knee and/or hip.

The GLA:D education and exercise program has had a great level of success since its development in Denmark and now is available throughout Canada.

The education component includes sharing the most up-to-date knowledge and research on the pathology and management of osteoarthritis. It is important to understand what osteoarthritis is, the risk factors, available treatment options and how to self-manage your symptoms successfully.

The exercise component consists of 12 neuromuscular exercise sessions, where clients discover how to control movements, how to build muscular strength through functional exercises and how to apply these exercises to make their daily activity easier.

The GLA:D program is available at Durham Orthopedic Sports & Injury Clinic.
