They make us who we are. From reception to massage, you will know everyone by name and they will know you. Like our facilities, our people are state of the art. We have five professionals on staff including four physiotherapists and one registered massage therapist.
Our Physiotherapists
Anna Papageorgiou, BSc PT MCPA
Clinical Director
Anna graduated from the University of Toronto with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1987.
She is a highly skilled manual therapist with extensive post graduate studies in orthopedics, sports injuries, manual therapy, muscle imbalances, pain management, exercise prescription, and has successfully completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University in Hamilton in 2007.
She has treated a wide variety of clients from professional athletes, competitive dancers, swimmers and gymnasts as well as post-operative clients including joint replacement, fractures, rotator cuff tears, motor vehicle accidents, with multiple traumas and regular repetitive strain injuries.
Anna strives to combine manual therapy hands on techniques such as soft tissue release, joint mobilizations and nerve tissue mobilizations techniques with specific functional strengthening exercises.
Education is an integral part of her treatment with the ultimate goal of empowering clients to become active participants in their recovery.
Carolyn Campbell, BSc PT, M. Manip. PT
Carolyn has been working in private practice for over 20 years, successfully treating a wide variety of orthopedic and sports related injuries. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario with her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. In 2001 she travelled to Australia to complete her Masters in Manipulative Therapy from the University of Queensland.
Assessment of postural issues, muscle imbalances, specific muscle weaknesses and joint/soft tissue restrictions will all be addressed on an individual basis. Her treatment combines manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilization, myofascial release, specific guided strengthening programs and client education to optimize full recovery.
Maria Morel, BSc PT, D.Ac, MCPA
Maria graduated from the University of Toronto in 1988 with a BSc (Physical Therapy). Over the years she has expanded her knowledge and skill base with numerous courses in manual therapy, core strengthening, exercise prescription, kinesiotaping, acupuncture and John Barnes myofascial release. Drawing on these tools, she assesses, treats and educates with a whole body approach to meet her clients’ goals for recovery.
Matthew Johnston, MSc PT, BSc Kin
Matthew is a Physiotherapist who graduated from the Master of Science in physical Therapy program at Queen’s University after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University. Matthew’s passion for physiotherapy stems from being a lifelong athlete and advocate for living a healthy lifestyle. Matthew was a member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Queen’s and plans to be a lifelong runner.
Matthew enjoys taking an evidence-based approach to help patients reach their goals and feel empowered to self-manage their injury/condition through a combination of exercise prescription, education and manual therapy. He has taken further continuing education courses in functional dry needling, concussion management, soft tissue release, and the GLA:D program for patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis.
Outside of the clinic, Matthew enjoys running, climbing, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Judy Nelson, BSc PT, CAFCI, MCPA
Judy completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology at McMaster University in 1992. She then received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 1995. She spent her early career working in orthopedics and paediatrics at the Kitchener-Waterloo Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Her post graduate studies have included the McKenzie Institute level D, acupuncture, myofascial release, and kinesiotaping. Other courses have included soft tissue release, APTEI courses and mindfulness-based pain reduction. Judy limits her practice to orthopedics and sports injuries.
Our Massage Therapists
Gail Sheehan, R.N., R.M.T., D.Ac
Gail has worked in rehabilitative massage therapy for over 15 years during which time she completed many continuing educational courses including a Doctorate in Acupuncture. She has acquired extensive experience treating sports, occupational and repetitive strains and injuries as well as numerous pathologies and postural related pain and dysfunction. Gail uses modalities such as ultrasound, passive stretch, soft tissue release and encourages active participation in her treatment plan with stretching and strengthening exercises.
Lesley Park R.M.T.
Lesley Park is an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Massage therapist who brings over 37 years of experience and skills to Durham Orthopedic & Sports Injury Clinic. She provides well-rounded client care with extensive experience in her profession from work in health spas, athletic facilities, chiropractic and massage therapy clinics, private massage college, sporting events and private practice. Swedish massage and various manual and neuromuscular techniques used in combination with pain management, mobility improvement, postural awareness, client education, stretching and exercise are regular components of each session. She has an exceptional ability to relate to clients and looks forward to becoming your massage therapist to assist achieving your therapy goals.
Lesley received her Diploma in Massage Therapy in 1983 from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. She holds dual registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, CMTO, and the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia, CMTBC and is a member of the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario, RMTAO. Her teaching and mentoring experience has included training and supervising student massage therapists, writing and presenting post-graduate massage therapy courses and basic massage courses for the public. Lesley’s academic studies and career path have followed her keen interest in the human body, which she supports with continuing professional development and knowledge, reviewing and applying new and changing health and medical research relevant to clinical practice.

Michelle Frost, Office Manager
Michelle’s knowledge of motor vehicle accidents, WSIB and extended health insurance billing, makes her an important part of our team.
She is always more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding physiotherapy and massage therapy appointments, as well as billing inquiries.
Cathy Weidman
Cathy’s friendly manner is an asset to our clinic and she is always eager to answer any questions or concerns you may have. She also handles the direct billing to insurance companies.

Nikki is a welcomed addition to our front desk staff with her willingness to help clients with any inquiries they may have. She is always helpful when booking appointments and billing extended health insurance companies.
